Malnutrition in infancy and early childhood is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in children, particularly in developing countries. This study therefore assessed the knowledge of infant feeding and associated factors among mothers of children under two years in Sagamu. A crosssectional descriptive study was carried out among 403 mothers in Sagamu, Ogun state, selected via multi-stage sampling. Data was collected using a validated, semi-structured, intervieweradministered questionnaire and analysed using SPSS version 18. The mean age of respondents was 29.2 ± 7.3years. Awareness of exclusive breastfeeding was 90.9%, while that of complementary feeding was 85.1%. About 9% of respondents had poor knowledge, 49.6% had fair knowledge, while 41.4% had good knowledge of infant feeding. Respondents’ sociodemographic characteristics were associated with knowledge of infant feeding. Respondents’ knowledge of infant feeding was mostly fair. Continuous nutrition education at primary health centres will help to improve mothers’ knowledge of infant feeding.
