Abstract
Financial reports assist shareholders in making informed decision actively and it
is necessary for them to understand the content in the financial report so as to
be able to apply them successfully. However, financial reporting quality has
imperative economic implications for investment decisions and better quality
financial reports will suitably reveal the firm’s investment performance. Quality
financial reports could help deposit money banks to achieve increase in value of
shares traded. Thus, this study examined the effect of quality financial reports
on value of shares traded in 10 listed deposit money banks in Nigeria, over a
period of 10 years from 2010 to 2019, which gives a total of 100 firm year
observations. The study employed the ex post facto research design. The study
found that quality of financial reporting has significant effect on value of shares
traded (Adj. R2 =23.31, F (3, 60) = 33.85, p = 0.0000<0>. Therefore, implication
of this finding was critically examined and recommendation was offered based
