Abstract
Considering the impact of the end-time deception of Satan and his agencies on God's end-time remnant people, this chapter sets out to discuss the implications of the research findings based on the statistical analysis of the major elements in the survey questionnaire to pastoral ministry in the Nigerian context. For practical purposes and to enhance clearer understanding of the issues under discussion, spiritualistic activities are so numerous to be itemised and exhaustively discussed in this chapter or even this book. Some are open to the knowledge of the general public while others are esoteric, being known only by the initiated. However, this study is concerned with the participation of professed Seventh-day Adventists in such spiritualistic activities that are not in harmony with the word of God or that give glory to Satan instead of God. The study employed survey design. The population for the study was 253,201 baptized members of the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church in Nigeria. Purposive sampling technique (based on willingness to participate in the study) was employed to select 1,735 participants in the study. A questionnaire was used in collecting data for the study. A response rate of 100% was achieved. Data were analyzed, using descriptive statistics. Findings revealed that the top six life situations that lead SDA Church members in Nigeria into spiritualistic activities (in descending order) were: Position seeking, Funeral rites, Promotion, Position retention, Health challenges, and Childlessness.
