Abstract

An experiment was conducted to determine the relative effects of five seed treatments and six storage containers on seed viability and seedling vigour traits of okra seed. Results indicated poor storability in local baft bags and earthen pots; while good performance was observed in semi-sealed containers like thick polythene bags and glass bottles. Seed treatments with chemicals also was significant on all viability and vigour traits of okra seed evaluated, while control treatment and seed treatment with palm oil did not give impressive results.
