Abstract
Globalization as a phenomenon emphasizes the eradication of both natural an artificial boundaries between or among nations. Thus, its facilitates interactions and inter connectivity among nations and people. This is accelerated by innovations in the world of technology particularly the free flow of information and communication today. Hence, today, the world is truly "a global village". This has arguably assisted economic, political and social developments particularly in the developing nations. However, in spite of the opportunities provided by globalization for nations to develop every sector and for the people to learn new techniques and innovations, it appears, Nigeria as a nation has learnt nothing from globalization as far as the management of her electoral politics and process is concerned. This is informed by the mismanagement of 2009 Ekiti Re-run election. The study reviews relevant literature on the central concepts, takes a look at the historical development of electoral politics in Ekiti state, the 2003 governorship and 2009 re-run election. It also recommends measures to assure credible electoral politics in Nigeria.
