Abstract
James Bamidele Akhigbe Kio was a Seventh-day Adventist member and clergy born into the family of Pa Joel Akhigbe in1936 and died in 2014. Kio was a native of Ujeme-Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government in Edo State. He was a leader of great repute, clergy of influence and a true representation of his faith. He worked at the various levels of the church. This biography examined the Africaness, leadership, education and accounts on mission based on the dearth of materials which this paper sought to meet. The paper employed the narrative methodology as it gathered sources from the primary, secondary and archival material in this study. This paper concluded that if studied, it will serve as a practical tool, motivating force for excellence in missions in a typical African milieu.
