Abstract
To key-in in the Millennium Development Goals of the Nation, librarians and information scientists should review their curriculum to align with the government’s educational and developmental agenda. The paper looks at ways Library and Information Scientists (LIS) could make their curriculum rich in entrepreneurial, attractive and innovative causes to make their graduates employers of labour instead of job seekers. With self-employment, crime rate reduces, and this could be done through curriculum restructuring. An elaborate example was drawn from both the undergraduate and postgraduate curricula of Babcock University whose students’ intake increases progressively as a result of curriculum restructure. The paper advises LIS practitioners to confront government policies that affect them either positively or negatively.
