Abstract
Organizational culture explains the way in which organizations are structured and their mode of operation for optimal performance when aligned to organizational goals thereby enhancing organization’s performance and for better competition. Organizational culture refers to belief, values, assumptions and ideology that stand at the center of the organizational operations or activities (Bush, 2003). In other words, organizational culture focuses on acceptable values, beliefs and norms exhibited by individuals in the organization and thus forming a collective belief or values of an organization. It represents the basic assumptions, beliefs and values of organizations which in turn influences operations of the organization. McManus and Loughridge (2002) emphasize the time value in organizational culture by describing it as shared value, norms, beliefs, activities and behavior that has developed within an organization over a period of time. Therefore, it can be inferred that older organizations will possess more organized culture.
