Abstract
Abstract
The relationship between corporate organizations and their host communities normatively enjoys mutual respect and understanding for the individual and collective health of both parties. Divergent perspectives on what should constitute the roles and boundaries of both could occasionally strain this relationship. Where both shares divergent believe and ideology, the situation could become potentially explosive. This succinctly captures the relationship between Babcock, a faith based Christian University and Ilishan-Remo, its host community, a polytheistic rural-urban town. This observation is the motivation for this qualitative research. In-depth interview with key informants from both sides revealed both areas of convergence and divergence in each party’s expectation of the other and the mutual respect in terms of the interdependence between both.
