Abstract
Viewing from the intricacies involved in the administration of estate law and customary law of succession law in Nigeria, controversies abound both in the courts of competent jurisdiction and among various legal writers. Hence, it is this controversy which abounds both by the courts of competent jurisdiction and various legal writer opinions that this article seeks to examine. Another key objective of this article is to look into how customary laws can be reformed to enhance its effective administration among concerned people in a defined socio-political environment.
